House of BIM Official Welcome

First and foremost, we would like to say welcome. We certainly hope that you come to enjoy your time spent here, and find it useful, enlightening, and inspiring. Our intent is for this site to become a repository for the wealth of knowledge shared between BIM professionals. We are currently a small group of designers, managers, and programmers with a vast range of specialties, so there will be a wide range of topics that will be addressed.

There will be posts regarding the utilization of the Autodesk Fabrication design suite to tackle the challenges faced by high purity contractors, and many posts covering tips and tricks as well as the customization of this software through settings, scripting and LISP programming.

We will not, however, limit our distribution of knowledge to Autodesk Fabrication. In fact, our first group of posts will cover a project that a few of us have been working on over the last few months. This undertaking has allowed us to use multiple design platforms to meet a particular need. We will go into great detail about how we were able to make two remarkably different software platforms, Autodesk Fabrication and AutoCAD Plant 3D, interact in order to meet rapidly changing project requirements without impacting project schedule or budget.

On top of all of that we will also be sharing our knowledge on topics ranging from BIM project management to .NET programming, and from utilization of the AcCoreConsole.exe to integration of Augmented and Virtual Reality into BIM workflows.

We look forward to speaking to you and appreciate any feedback, so please don’t hesitate to contact us.
